The Zillertal Valley ski region in Tyrol
There’s no need to explain where the Zillertal Valley lies; it had already become famous by the 19th century, thanks to the travelling Rainer singers from Fügen who sang Tyrolean folksongs at concerts to international audiences.
The Valley of the Ziller stretches from the Zillertal Alps in the south, to the mouth of the river Inn in the north. Starting with the first ski region, the Hochfügen-Hochzillertal Valley, one excellent ski area follows another, right to the Hintertux glacier.
With a total of 487 km of pistes, the Zillertal Valley is one of the largest contiguous skiing regions in Austria.
