In 1999, Alexander Fankhauser realised his dream of opening a gourmet restaurant at 1,500 metres above sea level. Since then, the Restaurant Alexander has been consistently ranked among Austria’s best dining addresses, and is regularly marked out by leading gourmet guides. The restaurant currently sports 3 toques and 18 points from Gault Millau 2018, as well as 5 stars & 97 points from the Guide A la Carte 2018 and 49 out of 50 cooking points from Falstaff Austria 2017.

Alexander Fankhauser’s culinary art is based on two solid foundations: a creative, modern style of cooking paired with traditional Tyrolean family recipes, especially from the Zillertal Valley. He interprets these influences in a contemporary manner, shaping his innovative menu creations. The excellent wine cellar houses wines from Austria’s top vintners and respected international vineyards.
